Publication Ethics

ZALIL JOURNAL : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Hukum is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Universitas Pamulang, Indonesia. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, editorial board members, reviewers, and the publisher. This policy is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of articles in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a reliable body of knowledge. It reflects the quality of authors’ work and their supporting institutions. Therefore, ethical standards are required for all parties involved in publishing: authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers.

Universitas Pamulang, as the publisher of ZALIL JOURNAL, takes its responsibility seriously in ensuring ethical publishing practices. Editorial decisions are not influenced by advertising, commercial, or financial interests.

Allegations of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, citation manipulation, or unethical research practices. Editors are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.

In cases of suspected misconduct, editors will follow COPE procedures, including investigation and communication with the corresponding author. Manuscripts found to involve misconduct will be rejected, and published articles may be retracted if necessary.

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published based on their academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editors may consult reviewers or editorial board members in making decisions.

Complaints and Appeals

ZALIL JOURNAL has a clear procedure for handling complaints related to editorial processes, peer review, and ethical issues. Complaints will be handled according to COPE guidelines and may be submitted via email to the journal editorial office.

Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or political views.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or editorial advisors.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a manuscript may not be used by editors or reviewers without the author’s written consent.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers contribute to editorial decisions and help authors improve manuscript quality. Reviews must be objective, confidential, and timely.

Duties of Authors

Authors must present accurate, original research, properly cite sources, disclose conflicts of interest, and avoid multiple or redundant publication. Authors are responsible for data accuracy and reproducibility.

Post-Publication Discussion and Corrections

ZALIL JOURNAL accepts scholarly discussions and corrections on published articles. Readers may submit comments to the Editor in Chief. Accepted discussions may be published as Letters to the Editor.
